As a long-time internet marketer, I found great hope with the 777 method for finding your blog niche. 

I found this method from Pat Flynn, a digital marketing guru at SmartPassiveIncome.com. 

The method teaches that you outline your 7 passions, 7 problems, and 7 fears. 

By the time you have defined all 21 points, you will get clear on what you want to write about for your blog niche and you will be glad you did.

I really like the 777 method because it gives the newbie blogger plenty of good insight and fodder into what drives them. 

Some new beginner bloggers used to work in the consulting space. 

I’m talking Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey, Accenture, Bain, and Deloitte. 

These consultants work so hard for their premium paychecks. 

The key for these consultants has always been, and continues to be, problem solving. 

They all have a problem-solving mindset, and that places them light years ahead of most businesses. 

With the 777 method, you have an opportunity to work on some problem solving for yourself and your blog niche. 

If you choose a blog niche that solves a core problem of your readership, or for you personally, then you will be very successful. 

7 Passions, 7 Problems, & 7 Fears – 777 Method & Blog Niche Technique 

The first thing you should do is get a piece of paper, or open a new Word document, and put 7 Passions, 7 Problems, and 7 Fears as the title. 

Then, you identify your 7 passions. 

I’ll list mine now. 

7 Passions 

1. Social Media 

2. California 

3. Hockey 

4. Small Business 

5. Blogging 

6. Travel 

7. Leisure 

Then, you identify 7 persistent problems in your life. 

7 Problems 

1. Not Enough Money 

2. No Capital For Lead Generation For My Small Business 

3. Don’t Have A Great Relationship With My “Parents” 

4. Not Seen For Who I Am 

5. Friendships Have Withered Away 

6. My Girlfriends All Broke Up With Me 

7. Not Enough Time With My Family 

Then, you identify 7 fears that are consistent in your life. 

7 Fears 

1. That I won’t get time with my sons when they’re grown up. 

2. That this blog doesn’t reach enough people. 

3. Might be that I can’t get a car for another year. 

4. Don’t want to go to county. 

5. Getting stuck in the world of mental health. 

6. That I won’t see my real family again. 

7. That the money dries up and I get stuck in bad housing. 

Next, after you have completed the 7 passions, problems, and fears, you should read through what you wrote and develop a keyword for each entry. 

This is similar to the blog niche of “you”.

So, for the 7 problems, here are the keywords that I came up with. 

1. Make Money Online 

2. Small Business Lead Generation 

3. Parent Son Relationship 

4. Identity & Self Development 

5. How To Make New Friends 

6. How To Get A Girlfriend 

7. More Family Time 

As you can see, when you turn your problems into keywords, you can come up with a nice blog niche and also, an online course or digital product, that solves the problems in your life – for other people. 

This helps you find a focused blog niche.

You can also leverage the 777 method to then find big referral programs related to your lifelong hobbies and interests.

I have seen successful blogs on each of those topics, and you can start one too, based on your life problems and passions. 

This is an excellent way to find a profitable blog niche.
