If you are a beginner blogger and are looking to choose a blogging platform to get started, then you’ll need to know the difference between WordPress, Blogger, and Weebly.
The three options are as follows:
- WordPress – start now with BlueHost
Each has their own advantages, though in my opinion WordPress is the choice you will want to make.
Why choose WordPress?
I say this because WordPress powers more than 40% of websites on the internet, and the vast majority of blogs.
WordPress is also our favorite blogging platform for beginners.
When you want to start a blog for profit, and employ monetization strategies to make money blogging, then you will want to choose WordPress from WordPress, Blogger, and Weebly.
WordPress: Blogging Platform For Pro Bloggers Who Blog For Profit
WordPress is a blogging platform that powers the internet.
Most people that make money blogging do so while using WordPress as their blogging platform of choice.
WordPress requires a little bit of setup, but it takes only 15 minutes or so to set up your blog for success.
You can have your own domain name with WordPress, and you will need to buy web hosting too.
If you want to buy WordPress hosting, then we recommend BlueHost for beginner bloggers.
For more experienced bloggers, you might want to try managed WordPress hosting, and that costs a little more.
Between WordPress, Blogger, and Weebly, we prefer WordPress.
Blogger: Blogging Platform For Beginners Who Don’t Need To Monetize Their Blog
Blogger is a blogging platform made by Google and its creators.
There are some unique advantages to Blogger, namely its ease of use.
It’s so easy to blog with Blogger.
To be clear, it’s easy to blog with WordPress too.
The major difference is that WordPress has plugins that help with your blog functionality, while Blogger is a more a simple, straight-forward blogging tool.
Blogger lets you add a domain name at no extra cost, and you don’t need any web hosting.
We prefer WordPress, but have used both and do find both to be satisfactory.
Weebly: Blogging Platform For People Who Don’t Want To Make Money
Weebly is a new blogging platform and website builder.
It comes with only a few templates to get started, so you can’t necessarily make your blog look the way you want immediately.
I tried Weebly and thought it wasn’t bad, but I also think that WordPress and Blogger have much better functionality for starting a new blog.
Weebly is new and relatively un-tested.
In my opinion, the difference between Weebly and WordPress is that WordPress helps you blog for profit, while Weebly doesn’t.
The difference between Weebly and Blogger is that Blogger is easier to set up and has less guess work while you go along.
There is also Wix, and WordPress vs Wix is a topic in its own right.
WordPress, Blogger, and Weebly are three different blogging platforms.
I have used WordPress to blog for profit in the past.
I have used a Blogger blog to make money blogging once.
Also, I have started a Weebly blog but haven’t made any money with it.
These three blogging platforms all have their advantages and disadvantages.
WordPress is the best for bloggers who want to blog for profit.
Blogger is excellent for bloggers who are on a tight budget and don’t have any money for web hosting but still want their own domain.
Weebly is good for some beginners, but they will likely benefit from WordPress.
All said, WordPress is the blogger platform of choice.
WordPress is the clear winner of the 3, and I hope you get started with WordPress today.
